Miners Day Parade

It was an early morning for some of us to drive up to Park City for the annual Miners Day parade. This is more of a festival for locals as opposed to some of the activities in PC designed to bring megabucks up from SLC. We had a nice turnout of BMCU cars - a number of the usual suspects were present and a couple of surprises as you can see below. Since the route was all down hill, no one overheated except the drivers. That was quickly remedied with some tall cool ones at the end of the parade.

Cars begin to line up at the top of the hill in downtown Park City. In addition to the B's, T's, Spits and TR6's, there were a couple of seldom seen cars like the MGB-GT.

The fire department came by as we were getting ourselves ready for the launch - maybe to check to see if there was a big oil slick to clean up.

Mike Denoso puts the finishing touches on his Morris Minor pickup. You can't see it here, but Mike has flames on his belt, hat and shoes to match the paint job on the car.

Julie Robinson gives final instructions to Angel and Luca. Luca was insisting on driving, but gave way when Bill showed up.

And away we go. Some familiar faces and cars of loyal club supporters Bill and Julie Van Moorhem and Jon Hermance led the way.

Ever popular, Hyacinth makes her way down the boulevard.

Joe Chou and daughter Ruby head down the street in Joe's B sporting a very large American flag and a smaller flag from Joe's native Taiwan. You just know that Jon Hermance was hoping to find some cones he could turn into a quick little course along the way, but alas there were none to be found. Behind them are Mitch Johnson and Doug Wimer.

Bill Robinson and his crew are followed by Bill Walton and Julie Robinson in that nifty green B.

Here's Gary and Sandy Lindstrom in that beautiful TR3 along side Dennis Hoagland in his MGB.

Triumph was well represented with Spits, TR3, TR6, TR250 all gleaming in the bright mountain sun. Here are Kent and Chris Jensen.

Mitch Johnson and Mike Denoso were definite crowd pleasers. Mike Voelckers MGB-GT can be seen in the background.

This Spit with New York plates was a newcomer to the club and a proud participant in its first event, driven by April Voelckers.
