State Street Cruise
September 16

It's Saturday the 16th of September and we wake to two inches of snow on our deck up here at 5,000 ft. Snow that turns to rain and wind for the rest of the day, hardly groovy cruising weather. But once at the staging area behind the Capitol in the vicinity of "Gravity Hill" I'm told, the rain has stopped and it's just wind with the clouds roiling about in the sky and 49 degree temps. Our pretty cars begin to arrive with their enthusiastic drivers and passengers. Roger arrives signaling that it's time to go. We roll out the parking lot and it turns calm, and we beginning turning heads as we turn left and down the hill, under the Sea Gull and south. Folks on the street are taking notice and wave in approval. "Nothing like the smell of 40 weight in the afternoon".

We managed to stay together, hitting the lights just so, on down to 9400 and our destination. Joe and crew were their normal hospitable selves and always a pleasure to be with. Food was good, as usual at Joe's Dairy Queen and topped off with what has become his signature for us, a delicious ice cream cake decorated with a TD motif.

So what started out in questionable weather turned into a pleasurable drive in calm conditions with our wonderful BMCU camaraderie for all.

Attending were Gary, Sandy and Margaux Lindstrom, Roger and Jill Davis, Kevin Cowan, Wade Ashby, Rondo Rawlins, John Perry, Michael and Mary Scoggins, Paul Jaroch, and Joe Chou.
