Cold and Snow Don't Deter St. Patrick's Day Paraders

Seventeen cars and their stalwart owners represented the BMCU at this year's St. Patrick's Day parade on March 11. In contrast to previous years, when odds-defying fair weather greeted paraders, this year the weather gods got revenge in the form of cold temperatures and even snow flurries. Due to an early application, and early (or at least earlier) parade number was obtained, and the fleet was rolling by 11:10am.

The crowds throughout Gateway Center were thinner, but just as enthusiastic as always. Some fair young lady even tried to enter one member's car, but her offer was declined -- for traffic safety reasons, no doubt. After the parade a warm up lunch was enjoyed at Sam Granatos, though some members elected to visit another venue where cold barley water is served.

A goodly representation of British marques and models were present, including a TR3, a TR4, 2 TR6's, a TR7, an MG-TC, TD, YB, and 2 TF's, 2 MGA's, 3 MGB's, and an Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III, plus a Mercedes Benz 300D escort.

Attending were: Gary, Sandy and Margaux Lindstrom; Riley Nevins; Dan Forster; Paul and Elizabeth Jaroch; Mike, Sharon and Scooter Bailey; Dave and Carol Marks, Marie and Kevin Cowan, John Progess; Jon and Susan Hermance; Floyd Inman; Doug Wimer; Dennis Hoagland; Clayton Merchant; Wade Ashby; and Steve Nelson.
